MoMo 8 weeks old. Tabby 8 weeks old
Well here they are. The last two kittens with no homes. I have placed ads for both and have had 4 responses for MoMo and one for the Tabby so I home they come through.

hurmph!

After the "Moravian Star" posting fiasco, I have changed my editing back to the old editing. I actually rewrote that post twice and it still looks terrible! Who in the world would want to use that new editing tool? Yuk!

Moravian Star

This is a 12-pointed star that I've been looking for a pattern for......I finally just had to buy one so I could copy it.  It wasn't the points that I needed a pattern for, it was instructions on how to put it together that I needed.  The one I bought was much smaller.  I made this one 8 3/4".  It is made of textured irridecent glass.  I wish all the pretty soft colors showed up in the photo, but I knew that was hopeless so you'll just have to come to my house and see it.  It has real pretty greens, pinks, blues, and yellows when the light hits it.  This will also spin if the breeze catches it.

I've got a bunch of these cut out.  I only managed to get two of them together today.  I've hung this one in my livingroom window and the other one I listed in my Etsy shop.

I didn't do an update on the kittens at 7 weeks old so I'll just wait until Friday when they are 8 weeks old and get some final photos of them.  Two of them will be going to their new homes Friday.  I'll advertise the other two.  They are soooooo cute!  It was all I could do not to keep little Sophie.  She's still my favorite.

Kittens at 6 weeks old

Little Sophie goes to her new home in Arizona the day after Thanksgiving.  I would probably have ended up keeping her if someone hadn't spoken for her.  She is really the most lovey dovey one in the litter and can play by herself for hours!  (Green Eyes)
Looking for a home for the little boy tabby.  What a little spit-fire this guy is!  He loves to get his tummy rubbed too, which is unusual for a cat.  He loves to ambush his brother and sisters.  (Green Eyes)
Squeaker will go to his new home in two weeks.  He's a little fluff ball.  I don't know how much of him is actual weight but he seems to be the biggest kitten in the litter.  (Green Eyes)

Miss Mo is the only one who has one green eye and one blue eye. Still need a home for her.  She is fluffy and big like her brother Squeaker.  Just a ball of fire too.  (One blue eye and one green eye)

SAVVY AND SOPHIE. Need I say more?

Kittens at 5 weeks old

Sophie
Sophie is going to be a lap cat. She was the first to climb up the couch and take a place beside me and she has done that every day since then. She loves being handled and interacting with us. I am sooooo tempted to keep this one! (but I must be firm with myself and say "no".)
Mo (Miss Mo)
Mo's black streak on top of her head is fading. She may just be pure white by the time she is 8 weeks old.

Tabby (Squeeler)
The little Tabby we call Squealer doesn't squeal when we pick him up any more. He has gotten much braver in the last week. He is much smaller than the others too and will definately be a short-hair. He has so much pattern on him. His little tummy has spots!

Squeaker and Tabby

These kittens will get up in the morning and terrorize my house for about an hour before nap time. They are all eating dry food now and using their cat box. Squeaker has a home with some good friends. I'm glad he'll be going to someone I know so I can see him grow up. He's a fun kitten and loves to play. It doesn't look like the spots on his head are fading at all so he'll probably always be easy to tell apart from the other white ones.

All of the kittens can hear. There is always a little concern about that when you get the pure white kittens.

Our dog, Savvy, is not taking any guff off of Tiny this time. Twice now, when Tiny has hissed at her, Savvy has just pinner her to the floor with one paw and did this really scarey growl/bark combination. She doesn't bite....just warns. Of course, we have scolded her each time so it wouldn't go any further than that. I really think Savvy is jealous of the kittens but I can't be sure that's what the problem is. She doesn't want the kittens near her. (These kids! What do you do?)

My Halloween Story

I can't believe my baby sister and I broke into a cemetery but we did! It was about 15 years ago (or so). I had decided that I wanted to visit the graves of notorious crimimals Bonnie & Clyde. (Bonnie Parker/Clyde Barrows) It was a rainy day in the Dallas area, but just in case it cleared up I went ahead and made inquireys on the whereabouts of their grave sites. I called several places ... the Chamber of Commerce, the library...and it seems like I called some place else but I can't remember it. Anyway, I was surprised that the girls who answered the phones did not know who Bonnie & Clyde were. That was my first surprise of the day.

I was finally able to get the names and addresses of the two cemeteries. The rain had let up and my baby sister offered to take me to them. The first cemetery, where Bonnie Parker was buried, was huge! After parking, we split up and began the hunt for her headstone. It wasn't long before my sister called to me that she had found it.
I was surprised to find that someone had recently visited and had placed a flower there. On her stone was written: “As the flowers are all made sweeter by the sunshine and the dew, so this old world is made brighter by the lives of folks like you.” (a few lines from a poem Bonnie Parker wrote) After reading the headstone and pondering it for a bit, we headed back to the car.

It was a bit of a drive across town to find the tiny cemetery where Clyde Barrow was buried. When we arrived, the gates were locked. Undeterred, we got out of the car and scaled a small fence on one side of the cemetery and there, in the gray light of dusk, we weaved through the faded headstones in search of "the one". It felt like we were being watched because there were houses right there facing the cemetery and although no one came out of any of them, I still felt like someone had to be watching us from those dark windows.
We found Clyde and his brother Buck buried next to one another with the simple inscription "Gone but not forgotten" etched into the stone under their names and respective birth and death dates.

It was nearly dark by the time we scaled the small fence and left the cemetery. That's probably the only time I was ever in a cemetery at dark.
